Latest Stuff

I worked a little on my blanket, just making two of the purple squares. They are my 'Special' ones because I can up with the patten. Here is the pattern:

ch 4, sl st to form a ring.

Make a granny square up to row 9.
row 9: sl st in the next two dc, ch 3, two dc in ch space, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch space, ch one, do groups of 3 dc, then one ch, 3 times. There should be four groups on the row, including the cornor group. ch 1, dc in ch space, ch 15, sl st in 2nd dc on the first row of square. ch 15, sl st into first ch of previous 15-ch. dc in ch space. continue around.

Finish it off with row 10. after fastening off, cut four 4 in. lenghts of yarn and tie the ch to the 3-dc group on row 5.

Now you have that square!

Last night I printed out a pattern for a small sock.

And here it is, finished!

Fun colors!

I've had to clean these boxes that hold my random things in my room. I found a small baby blanket!

 How cute is that?

When we went to the beach, I started picking up seashells that had large holes in them so I could turn them into cute necklaces! I finally got to it today. I tried just using one strand of this neclace stuff, but, as always, I got to crocheting the necklaces.

Cool, huh? I did an anklet, but the picture is H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E.

New Blanket

Last night I was watching a movie with my dad on TCM- thank goodness TCM doesn't have commercials during the movie, because we watching "The Great Escape." I worked on this blanket:

I have nicknamed this blanket 'Kate' 'cause that's my nickname with only one letter changed! I know that you can't tell right now, but I accidentally sewed a square on backwards! Then I thought, "I'll do that with all of my blankets to sorta 'sign' it! It's my signature on the blanket!" And.... that's why now, I'll sew a square on backwards. =]

My grandma gave me some mason jar covers that are crocheted! She doesn't crochet, so I think that she just bought them or found them somewhere. Anyway, today, I ran into he garage and got a mason jar(If you live in the south, you have plenty of 'em.), brought it into my room, and filled it with my loose ends and extra little pieces of yarn laying around! I then put the green top on it, and here's what it looks like:

And if you look in the background, you'll see Club Penguin! I really thought that my screen saver was on.... ah well.

The crochet class is going well. One student has made up to six face scrubbies! Not the round ones, but small, square ones. And another student's mom once crocheted- and is expecting a baby by Nov.! That student wants the make a blanket for the baby, and I'm trying to teach her, even though she has the wrong kind of yarn. Still trying, though. That's my week, I'll try to update tomorrow on my blanket. Peace, ~Cate

What's left of Fort Roanoke. I didn't get a good picture there.... hold on....

Much better! And no, we didn't just go sight-seeing....

Now looking at the picture.... It looks like a painting, doesn't it? Okay, okay, enough of the trip. Here's a shawl I'm working on!

My bed-spread is a little too wild for a picture with something else.... but it's perfect wild print for a tween like me!

Did I Die and Go To Heaven Yesterday?

Yesterday when we went to Roanoke Island, my dad looked the the map and told me about a shop that I'd might like, so we stopped. As soon as I saw the sign, I was jumping out of my seat, practically running into the store. For me, it seemed like I died and went to heaven for a whole hour. It was a fully-stocked, pattern-filled yarn shoppe. The lady had a gallery where she displayed all her projects.... and it was just too cool. I got four balls of yarn and lots of patterns, too. When we checked out, she asked me how long we were going to be in the area, and I said until Saturday. She then invited me to this thing the next two days. I not going, though, because I don't know anyone, but it was really nice of her, though. I now know what I'm doing when I grow up. =]

NC Beach. =D

I'm at the North Carolina coast!! We(Family & I) went to Cape Hatteras today! We climbed all 248 steps to the top, and the view was amazing! The visibility was amazing. The view was worth climbing. On top, you could see the path they had cut into the trees when they moved the lighthouse. The house that the light keepers' family and the light keeper himself would stay was off limits; it was a office for some reason. There was another house and they had turned it into a museum! We would've gone on the Civil War Tail on the way back to the campground, but we were so tried that we decided to do it tomorrow. That's my day, how was yours?

Oh, and Happy Mother's Day!

Books

I went to the Relay for Life in my town. Last year, this church had a awesome sale for books: a whole bag of 'em for just $1!!!!! My mom got two bags of books. Here are some of the books i got!

I asked the lady who was attending to the stand if she had any crochet books. Then, she took all of these books and out them in a bag. "Here," she said, "nobody's asked for 'em yet. They're free. I don't know which ones are crocheting and which ones are knittin', but I do know that some of them are in different languages. One page is like, Italian, and the back is English, you know, like that. But here, take 'em." I thanked her and couldn't stop smiling! That was so nice!

Of course, I needed some books to sadisfy the wild reader inside of me. The books are(left to right): So Little Time & Point of No Return[green book is two novels]; Macbeth; The Golden Fleece And the Heroes Who Lived Before Achilles; Sir Gawin And the Green Knight.

OKay, bye!!!!
