Making Good Time
We've all tried to get back to normal lately, and we're halfway there. Thanks.
During that time, I've been crocheting.
I pulled this out to start working on it tonight;
& I made some new potholders;
& I started ANOTHER blanket;
& I started ANOTHER blanket;
& I made a small banner to display my pins.

Earthquake!
What I learned in school about earthquakes:
Curl up next to the wall and cover you head.
Pray that nothing falls on you.
Wait until your teacher tells to get up.
Go about your business.
Nothing prepared me for the earthquake today. I was sitting on the floor in my room, prepping my poster for the wall, when all of the sudden, the ground started to shake and Momma's china started clinking.
We freaked out.
She called Daddy, and after a few minutes, hung up, then turned on the TV.
(We watch CBS, BTW)
Scott Pelly came on and said that there's been an earthquake... it was classified as 5.9.
COOL!!!!!!
I honestly, never thought that there would be an earthquake here in NC. WOW.
So, after struggling to find CNN (It's NOT 205 or 202 on ours, it's 200. Figures.), I got on Facebook to see my friends' reactions.
I had three notifacations. Two on a "Happy Birthday" message I left a good friend, and a friend request. Jennifer Lawrence friended me!!!!!!
(Cue cricket noises)
She's an actress, mostly Indie movies. She's now currently filming the film adaption of my all-time favorite books, The Hunger Games, in Concord, NC, just less than an hour away from where I live! EEEEKKKK!!!!!
:~:~:+:~:~:
Fan shrieking aside, I organized my yarn stash yesterday. I sorted through lots of acrylic, and threw together what I couldn't/didn't want. I also wound up some yarn with my winder, and I have a blanket planned for after I finish my current blanket. =)
I have one picture of that hexagon blanket, and it's not very good, but here it is anyways:
I've been curling up with it, watching the BBC America channel, watching Top Gear, a new fave show.

Heat Wave
It's been hot like heck here, so I don't go outside during noon/afternoon/any-time-past-10-AM.
Well, out apple trees have been dropping apples, so guess who got to rake/clean them up?
I did.
It was HOT, and I just came in just a few minutes after 10.
With crocheting, I put up some of the big stuff and resorted to quick projects. It's hot, they're lighter, and I was instant results.
So what? The heat's made me inpaient.
Here are my projects from Monday to today:
Ah, I'm gonna go cook lunch. See ya later.

Rome in my Room
Here's that LBY Homespun blanket:
It's definatly bigger than last time... XD
I also dug out some Fisherman's Wool and started a cape/caplet thing. I just wanted to do some cables, and I think it's working up nicely:
It's not really this shade of orange, just the effects from the flash. If it's totally white, you can't see anything except for a white blob.
We went to Asheboro today, and Books-A-Million was having a $3-$2-$1 sale! They always put classics out, so I snatched up a couple. I got a bunch by one of my favorite authors, Charles Dickens.
And I got some new posters! I took down alot of my Taylor Swift stuff. I'm so lazy, I only put up one:
I took a crappy shot, sideways, and my computer is being a bit weird on me. But, anyway, here it is:
It looks like a dirtdober nest when it's on it's side...

Tinker & Sugar
I watched Nat Geo's Documentery, 'The Photographers' today.
The movie is about, well, photographers for the Nat Geo magazine. It was made back when film was dominate, but it's still amazing. They talk about what it takes to get 'that perfect shot' for the magazine, and all the trials that they go through on a regular basis to get those amazing shots.
One guys said that it wasn't fun, it was work.
But, a more senior photographer said that it's his passion, and he couldn't think of anything else. And that the kind of photography that he does really makes you feel more human, more real, more aware of the world around you.
Can you guess whose opinion I like the most?
If the whole writing thing doesn't work out, I'd defiantly go for Nat Geo photography.
So, with the spirit that the movie gave me, I took some more pictures. Of Tinker and Sugar. Out of the near ninety, here are the over-all best:

Already a Week?!?!
Boy, a week sure does fly by!
I've crocheting, cleaning, and most importantly, reading!
Last week, I told you about a book dare I decided to go on. I really liked the Harry Potter book, so I decided to read the WHOLE series....
I just finished Deathly Hallows last night, and the series is juts flat-out awesome!!!!
It's ready to go back to the library, with Goblet of Fire and Half-Blood Prince!
But, let's get on with other things...
Last weekend, I went with Momma, my Uncle and Aunt to check out some of the antique shops in Asheboro. I saw some cool crocheted stuff, but one thing caught my eye:
This picture just doesn't do it any justice... it may be plastic, but I think it's beautiful! And a deal, I bought it for only $4.50!
I've been working on a new blanket, as to use up this yarn that was originally for a poncho!
And, yet still, more books!!!
Last night, IRT newest season premiered, and I have to say... Lisa looks awesome as a red-head! I wish that they had a picture of her with her new hair, but there isn't. =(
Well, talk to y'all soon.

Not Much Corcheting Lately
My crochet hook has been laying around lately while I read and work in the yard. Hopefully, I'll be able to show you pictures soon of our flower beds!
But, for now, you'll have to settle for some old photography.
(This one is my new desktop!)

My NEW Lamp
I finally finished my mystery project last week!
A cover for my new lampp!!
I think it looks great.
That's what the new thread was for. I also dug out some old 'bead jewels' that I used to collect.
And I'm working on a new project, too. It's being made with cotton yarn, and I believe that I'm out of yarn for the rest of the project...
ORDERING TIIIIIMEEEE!!!!
Today, Daddy & I watched some "Mystery Science Theater 3000" on Netflix. IT's HILARIOUS. I'm wondering why they took it off air. We watched the one when they did the commentary on the 'horror' movie called "The Killer Shrews". HILARIOUS.
Well, I better go dig out $20 and order some yarn. =)

Smithsonian
This weekend we headed out to the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. It was awesome.
The sole inspiration for the trip was the crochet coral reef. I took plenty of pictures:
I took a ton more, which I'll post during this week!
Bu the crochet coral reef was NOT all that we went to see!
The Wright Flier. *GASP*
(Left to right) Daddy, Momma, and Me! |
I think that this is the best picture I took there!
It was a blast going there.
I experienced a lot of new things.
Like crowds.
And riding the subway.
And crowds at the subway.
And a $40 pizza.
I'd suggest for anyone to go there, but I would suggest to go on the subway(or the metro, whichever you prefer) only to my worst enemies. It's crazy.
What did you do this weekend?
Well, while you answer that question, I'm going to pamper my feet. Let's just say that I walked more this weekend than I ever have in my entire life.
Oh, I also found out something last night!
There's gonna be a season TWO of 'An Idiot Aboard'! It's the 'Bucket List', and I can't wait!
