Still Alive, Still Crocheting

So I'm not a social butterfly. Big deal.

Not much has been going on, just reading, crocheting and school. I recently turned 14 on the 14th, and I'm just happy to live another year.

I'm still working on my New Year's project, it's currently going (not-so-)well, and taking it apart is nowhere on the horizon.

Okay... I'll all out of things to say. Here, enjoy a picture of Tinker.

Tuesday, Oh Lovely Tuesday

I usually don't sing the praises of days of the middle of the week, but today's an exception. It's been pretty good, except for the humidity. Here I go, barely three sentences in and boring you to death about the weather.

I snapped some pictures of Little Bit today. Here are some of the highlights:

I also started a new blanket... I really like crocheting them. XD

It's really big, and this picture doesn't do its size justice.

Here are the colors, in case you're interested.

I decided to use the leftover RH Super Saver Cafe from Momma's Christmas present and that RH Stripes I got on sale a couple weeks ago. I like how it's coming, and I've had to improvise some yarn since I ran out on some of them.. It looks patch-y and all. The pattern's easy, too, and I can work it mindlessly while watching The Big Bang Theory or Top Gear.

So far, so good!
How's everything going for y'all??

Blankets, Books, and Music: How Familiar It All Is!

Yes, yes, I am alive! Daddy had Momma & me helping him remodel the inside of his truck. It looks amazing, and we got done yesterday! I also got to work on some long-forgotten projects. Blankets!

Yes, this lost-long lap blanket got the spotlight as I worked on it. I also found my 5.5mm hook tucked in its many folds... ah. I worked the most on it watching a hilarious-Daddy-commentary-worthy movie called Trollhunter.

And this one si finally done, thank heavens above! I now officially hate the pattern, but the colors are GORGEOUS!!!

As for Music, Allstar Weekend released their new album, All The Way. The color's really bright.

For Books, I'm reading The 39 Clues. While I'm waiting for Book 3, 4, & 5 to come to the library-I requested them a week ago-, I'm reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Trilogy.

As it goes, I'm pretty satisfied with the blankets.
They look good in my opinion. Off on another blanket!

Under The Sea

As in, my new ripple. It's like my hats; a sanity project. I wanted to get away from the over-thinking-ness of a sweater and of a complicated blanket I want to do.

I've worked a WHOLE LOT more on it, but this was the last picture taken of it.

Maybe it'll be finished next time I post.

Hopefully.

Rain Rain, Please Stay

It's raining here.

And the people on TV are freaking out!!!

Ha ha ha ha!!

We haven't had rain almost all summer, and we're expecting some thunderstorms and possibly some no-land tornadoes.

Alrighty.

Perfect weather to go around town in, huh?

It's Tuesday, and we went to Music today. And the library.

But now, I'm sitting in my puffy chair, wrapped in my latest blanket, typing on my laptop.

I just finished my book report on The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

And it's also a good day to curl up with a H.G. Wells seven-novel-set from the library. =)

And, maybe after that, some more crocheting on Daddy's Sweater.

Yeah, it's a good day.

Earthquake!

What I learned in school about earthquakes:

Curl up next to the wall and cover you head.
Pray that nothing falls on you.
Wait until your teacher tells to get up.
Go about your business.

Nothing prepared me for the earthquake today. I was sitting on the floor in my room, prepping my poster for the wall, when all of the sudden, the ground started to shake and Momma's china started clinking.

We freaked out.

She called Daddy, and after a few minutes, hung up, then turned on the TV.

(We watch CBS, BTW)

Scott Pelly came on and said that there's been an earthquake... it was classified as 5.9.

COOL!!!!!!

I honestly, never thought that there would be an earthquake here in NC. WOW.

So, after struggling to find CNN (It's NOT 205 or 202 on ours, it's 200. Figures.), I got on Facebook to see my friends' reactions.

I had three notifacations. Two on a "Happy Birthday" message I left a good friend, and a friend request. Jennifer Lawrence friended me!!!!!!

(Cue cricket noises)

She's an actress, mostly Indie movies. She's now currently filming the film adaption of my all-time favorite books, The Hunger Games, in Concord, NC, just less than an hour away from where I live! EEEEKKKK!!!!!

:~:~:+:~:~:

Fan shrieking aside, I organized my yarn stash yesterday. I sorted through lots of acrylic, and threw together what I couldn't/didn't want. I also wound up some yarn with my winder, and I have a blanket planned for after I finish my current blanket. =)

I have one picture of that hexagon blanket, and it's not very good, but here it is anyways:

I've been curling up with it, watching the BBC America channel, watching Top Gear, a new fave show.

Pictures? Yeah, Right.

We started school back(since we can't go outside AT ALL), and now we're doing this laid-back style that's been paid for by a heavy price- a lot of arguing and facepalms. We've got it figured out, and hopefully Momma (and me) can understand all this.

Like I told Daddy last night,

"They just teach me the same stuff over and over, only beefing it up each go-round."

And, to help me keep my sanity, I decided to find ways to help me focus. I crochet hats while I read. I listen to Orchestra music while doing Math, English, etc.

I finally got Daddy's sweater planned! I ordered some(just two) cable/Aran/Celetic knitting books off of Amazon so I could study the cable and try to convert them to crochet.

I have the yarn, the idea I want of shaping, yadda yadda yadda.

I just need to know how big Daddy would like it. Hmm... Looks like I'll either be measuring Daddy himself or one of his sweatshirts.

I hope to have some pictures of my hats later on.

Talk to you soon.

Heat Wave

It's been hot like heck here, so I don't go outside during noon/afternoon/any-time-past-10-AM.

Well, out apple trees have been dropping apples, so guess who got to rake/clean them up?

I did.

It was HOT, and I just came in just a few minutes after 10.

With crocheting, I put up some of the big stuff and resorted to quick projects. It's hot, they're lighter, and I was instant results.

So what? The heat's made me inpaient.

Here are my projects from Monday to today:

Ah, I'm gonna go cook lunch. See ya later.

Humid But Sunny Days

My Point:

Yes, the fog on the lens is actually the HUMIDITY!!!!!

But, then my lens warmed up and I got these great shots:

All these sunflowers were from a bag of birdseed. Much, much, much cheaper than buying those tiny packs that never root. And the side of the house that I planted them at gets sunlight ALL DAY, so they grew like (very pretty) weeds!!! I am very proud of my flowers. =)

The pictures don't stop there;

I also took one of our hibiscus flowers and some great ones of Tink, looking at him from the ground up, instead of the sky down. Yes, I am memorized by the 'different point of view' angle. It's always fresh, no matter what angle.

There's more Tink, but I'll show you later.

Put Down That Book!!

That's what Momma said to me earlier...

So, I've been going to the library for a couple(probably more) weeks in row now, and I decided to go on a book dare, reading the first book of series I've been knocking;

Twilight and Harry Potter

The first Twilight book was bareable, though I hated just how much Bella thought of Edward. DISGUSTING.

Harry Potter, though, was really, really interesting. So, I'm reading the whole series now. Turns out, in my library, where the HP books are in hardback ONLY, the books get bigger and bigger with each installment.

....

YESH!!!!!

So, no crocheting has happened, though I've tried a bit of knitting.

It's waaaay too hot to work outside any. 90 degrees and predicted thunderstorm everyday this week, too.

Buuuuuut......

I got my EOG's doneee!

In thirty minutes, I might add.

It would take me a whole week in regular school. I love Homeschooling!

Talk to y'all soon.

An Old Project

I pulled out that old hexagon afgan last night...

And some of my spare yarn is in its usual place... by the recliners

I didn't go and see Soul Surfer with McMonster. But, Momma, Daddy & I went the next day as a family day. We went to the bookstore, and I nearly accomplished burying my whole weekend in books! Here's the ones I bought:

Flipped, The Lemonade Crime, Chicks with Sticks (It's a Purl Thing), and Holes.

And I went to the library today. In four minutes, I had five books.

The Princesses of Barremore, Dr. Dolittle, All Shook Up, Alex Rider: Scorpia

I had another, but after two measly chapters I lost interest. Gary Paulsen may be an acclaimed writer, but if an author can't hook me in by 'Chapter Two', they've failed. Although, Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider: Scorpia) is a really good writer. For some reason lately, I've been really into British Spy novels and all.

What's been going on with you?

Cabling Done!

As a very happy girl, I say that my cabling project is DONEE!!!!

It's supposed to be a cowl... aw, well. I think it turned out great anyway. =D

Daddy keeps asking about his sweater... He says that he wants one with all the "cabling like that".

The guy who drew this goes by the screen name of 'Screenhog' and used to work for club penguin. He's a Christian and draws super awesome!

How's your Monday Wednesday Thursday Friday Tuesday been?

Just Another Day

My Shawl... I really like it!

I've also started this book. Never too late, huh? XD

*Phantom Cat*
Just kidding. It's Squirt.

Here is the lovely, yet blond, Rascal. This morning, he was sitting on that table and was cleaning himself, so he had his back turned. Squirt then jumped up onto the table and nosed Rascal. Rascal then preceded to turn around and BOP! Squirt right in the face! Poor Squirt was so surprised that he nearly fell off the table!

It shall be a rainy day week. Et Tu?
