A Cowl of a Tale

So... we're back. Yep. I managed to get some photos at the beach. Here are a few of them worth showing:

Sorry they're so bad. I took them on a Kodak, not with my Canon.

I have been crocheting, too, and here's two recent projects.

Yep. Not much else. So, how've you guys been while I've been AWOL?

Exloring, Next Time We Talk

It has been nearly two months since my last post, and nothing has been going on except trying to hie from the hot weather. We're getting ready to head out to the beach next Sunday and I can't wait.

But aside from that, here's some filler-pictures of some family adventures from the past couple of months that I've been MIA.

Miss Kitty is Home!

We saw her today coming home from town. She's old and skinny.

She never liked the car, so I walked to the house, calling her so she would follow me, and I eventually picked her up and brought her in. She was still scared, so we put her on the porch, gave her some food (And Rascal and Squirt).

Pictures? Yeah, Right.

We started school back(since we can't go outside AT ALL), and now we're doing this laid-back style that's been paid for by a heavy price- a lot of arguing and facepalms. We've got it figured out, and hopefully Momma (and me) can understand all this.

Like I told Daddy last night,

"They just teach me the same stuff over and over, only beefing it up each go-round."

And, to help me keep my sanity, I decided to find ways to help me focus. I crochet hats while I read. I listen to Orchestra music while doing Math, English, etc.

I finally got Daddy's sweater planned! I ordered some(just two) cable/Aran/Celetic knitting books off of Amazon so I could study the cable and try to convert them to crochet.

I have the yarn, the idea I want of shaping, yadda yadda yadda.

I just need to know how big Daddy would like it. Hmm... Looks like I'll either be measuring Daddy himself or one of his sweatshirts.

I hope to have some pictures of my hats later on.

Talk to you soon.

Goldfish & Happily Intruding Intruders

There were these tiny little birds that romped around our site for a while. That is, until we all told Nathan to grab them and put them on the other side of the campground. But I did get some good pictures!

Okay, so they're not-so-good pictures. But, in my defense, I had on zoom and had to get down really close to get these pictures, so naturally they'd be a bit blurry.

:~:+:~:

So, we had a deck of cards accually used at the Hard Rock Hotel (courtesy of Nanster & Papa). Nathan and I played Go Fish on them, and Daddy taught us how to play Blackjack. Daddy eventually admitted that he didn't remember how to play Go Fish, so I played a round with him.

But, we(Nathan, Daddy & I) wanted to play Go Fish together... so we created......

Goldfish!

Here's how to play:

Deal each player seven cards. Dealer chooses which player goes first, or, if you can't decide, player to the left of dealer goes first.
First player asks for a card.
Let's say, four.
Any players with a four have to give the first player their card. Only one player has to hand in a card To save the first player from drawing.
If none of the players have the card, the first player has to draw cards numbering the same as the number of players.
When one player wins first place, game continues until all the players have places (second, third, etc.).
Remember: The more players, the more fun!

Here's some snapshots of our game, played with(In random games):
Me
Daddy
Nathan
My Aunt
My Uncle

Tryin' it out for the first time: Three players

Nathan laughing at Daddy's attempt to enforce Tournament Rules.

Nathan, MY Uncle, and Momma laughing at my comment: "Can we get off the politics of this game?!?!"

 Shuffling...

 Shuffling...

First successful four-player Goldfish game. Nathan is hiding his cards. MY Aunt's at the very right

We came up with the name, because, I inherited Nanster's way of messing up every single word I say if I try hard enough.

So, when I said Go Fish, it sounded like I was saying, Goldfish.

So, either out of pity, or just to claim that we invented a game, we called the game Goldfish.

Another post later about our fabulous vacation.

Second-Best

Okay, so I haven't felt sand between my toes yet..

But, I sat beside the pool yesterday, listened to the jet run, and dipped my toes in.

Funny thing is, we run a salt-system to chlorinate our pool, and we added too much salt, so our pool is nearly as salty as the ocean! Only without the critters, of course.

~+~

I saw this picture on Facebook today..

It was taken by the creator of iCarly, Dan Schneider.

Happy Father's Day.

Stockings and Some Re-Discovered Pictures!!!!!

Okay, two stockings down.
(Second one is Daddy's!)

Momma's!

I found some more camp pictures! I know it's October, but what the heck??

The bunk above mine. Grandmother's work, not the girl's. =( Funny, though, I have a blanket those same colors! That girl's Grandma knows how to colorize!

This is a cabin. A real summer camp cabin. I stayed in one that looks like my church's Fellowship Hall. I go there enough, why make a replica???

Dear Trees, We love you. But, please, hug us and spare the splinters. Love, Us.

Not a good picture of the cabin I stayed in. I really hate Momma's camera. IT great as a portable camera, but the resolution stinks.

A very pretty picture of the lake from the Zip-Line Tower station!

Ego-Walk. Funny. Now, I find that this game has many morals in Daddy's lectures. Now I can bypass them. A little, anyway.

Yep, nature photography. MORE nature photography. Deal with it.

You better not be grumbling about this one since it's really, really, REALLY pretty!

This ugly door means more to me than you'll ever know. ;-)

What's that, Tiffany(girl in purple)? Lump in your throat? It feels like a frog? You just ribbited? Whatever. Let's go on with he show!

Bridge to Terabithia
Twice Upon a Marigold
Flyte
Queste
Physik
Flush
True Spirit(Currently Reading)
Ones that are crossed out are ones that I've read in the past..... errr... couple of days.

I hope that you enjoyed my ranting, go on with your lives now. XD

Sinfle.... Paint.... Crochet.... MUSIC?

I have been sick lately......

ANYWAYYY!!!!!!!!

Here's the finished bag!
Since I had some of those colors lefts, I made an iPod holder!!

Cute, huh?

Here's my bed with that blanket for the comforter!

I've finished these two. They were great books! (Left to right: The Castle in the Attic; Fantastic Mr. Fox)

I plan to read these! They're a little bit more grown-up than the two before, but I think they'll be worth a shot! (Left to right: The Search for Delicious; Princess Academy; The Hunchback of Notre Dame)

Do you wonder what I'd make with this? Well, of course you WOULDN'T, you have a life. But I'll SHOW you anyway. No take-backs.

I Like it! I did the pattern as the same for that blazer in the latest Crochet Today! issue!

Okay, I've been totally obcessed with this band.
Allstar Weekend!!!!! Ain't they cute?

"When I fall down
I know I've got this weekend to live
I'm gonna get my freak on
It carries me
And we'll be rocking our playlist"
~The Weekend, Allstar Weekend

OH! You want me to get to the paint part? Oh, yeah!!!!
That's all I'm showing you. (PSSSSSSS!!!! Mine are the purple ones! I'M SPECIAL!!!!)

Blanket and Camp!

I have been taking all of my latest summer days and putting them into my blanket. But I ran out of yarn. A few days ago, a box appeared at my house.

And inside was....

The yarn I needed to finish!

Here's what I've got so far on the blanket:

One purple square left!!!!

*********************************************************************************
The reason why I want to get this blanket done so fast is that I'm going to camp next week!

I went there last year and had a blast! It's a Christian camp for churches in the Cornerstone Conference area. I want to take my new blanket to camp this year. I'm now old enough to go in the Jr. High Week! Yep, I'm going into 7th next Fall. Okay, enough of me blaring on, you can go on with your life now! lol.
