La di-da-de-da

Hello! Happy Halloween! Did you know....

Halloween is actually another version of Hallows Eve? The day 'Hallow' is November 1st, which was erected from the early church to remember the influential Christians that had passed away.

My teacher this morning, JJ, said that Halloween WAS NOT a Christian holiday, so I told her the paragraph above. She looked at me and said, "Okayy........ where did you learn THAT?" I told her that I watched the Halloween special on the History Channel. LOL!

And when we got home, Daddy wanted to let Rascal in, so I picked up the kitty and let Daddy hold him. But them Daddy let go of Rascal. Then we spent the rest of the day trying to find Rascal. And Daddy also pi$$ed Momma off. I'm not kidding.

Then after Rascal was put back outside, I started working again on my grandparents' blanket.

Check it out! Look familiar?

I used more bolder colors so the different squares could be seen much more easily!

Did you notice that? I changed the border colors. ;)  I love my own attention to detail. lol!

I saw this the other day and I just had to show you!

Well, I hope that you enjoyed your "Holiday History" and my update! I have a whole lot more projects coming up! I better get started!

Simple Thursday

Well, good to see ya today. How are ya? I'm fine. Let's go straight to the post, shall we??

I've been working on my grandparents' blanket. Here's a pic:
One more red flower, and I'll be working on the leaves!

We went to A.C. Moore the other week and I got this yarn!

We went to Michael's yesterday and got this yarn, too!

And at Michael's, I found these! How cute are they? I couldn't leave the store without 'em!

My computer has been giving me grief lately. I've been trying to put some pictures I took on Sunday on here, and it keeps popping up as some pictures that were on it three weeks ago. I just told my dad to get the pics off his computer onto a thumbnail and I'll use it that way. This kind of stuff just LOVES to bite me in the butt.

And last nite, don't even get me started. Tiffster's momma had set a basket with a note that said: "This Wednesday Night Class is a No-Cell-Phone Area. Please turn off your cell phones and place them in this basket." When she came in, she explained about it, and I crossed my arms and laughed while the rest of the class got up and put their phones into the basket. I don't have a phone. :)

The she explained about if anyone was misbehaving, that the teachers had all the authority to take them out of class and make them write a 1,000-word essay on why they were being disruptive. And then send it to their "Legal Guardian." I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. They are all disruptive, and I'm silently sitting there, shaking my head and going, "Tsk, tsk, tsk." lol XD

And when Tiffster's momma said that these things were brought up at the meeting last night, in my head I said, "Yeah, I bet when you mentioned it, you called it 'Plan Z.'" I thought that because they've tried everything to get them to be silent; bribery, lesser threats, the works. Did I mention the fact that I enjoyed a non-all-h3ll-breaks-loose Wednesday nite class? ;)

My mom and I were joking about all this on the way home. Okay, I was more, like, complaining, but still. She told me, "There are some things that you need just to let it go over your head."

I responded with: "Momma, with all the things that you're telling me to go over my head, I'm gonna drown in it all."

And when they called out the bus kids, someone had thrown away their plate with some runny dip. Let me back up and tell excatly WHY the person had runny dip: We are studding fitness and Sue Anuh brought in some heathly foods, like carrost, prezels, apples, dip, stuff like that. Now, back to the story:
The tiny trashcan that we have in our classroom was over-flowing with plates. Someone obviously didn't eat all of their dip and carrots, but they threw it away anyway. The part that makes me the most mad it that when it got turned over, no one would tell anyone, just step over it. They could've said, "Teacher, someone split some of that dip. I'd help to clean it, but I gotta get on the bus before it leaves me!"
So me, being the goodie-two-shoes that I am, pointed it out and volunteered to clean it up. As soon as I had got on the ground to clean it up, here came Momma, ready to pick me up. I told just a minute and continued to clean what I saw. And no one else bothered to say, "Let me help ya, Cate!" And EVERYONE in my class knows who my momma is and knows that sometimes she WILL get impatient. So I told the teacher that I really had to go, so she told another girl to do so I could leave. As I was getting up, I heard the girl sigh. I wanted to turn around and punch that girl.

Well, I hope that you some-what enjoyed this nonsensical post. I'll talk to you guys later.

Rain, Rain, Go Away. Seriously.

It's spoused to rain today. Make that rain heavily. Momma even told me that if I hear something like a train, to call her. X(

SIGHHHHHHH

Book update:
Bridge to Terabithia
Twice Upon a Marigold
Flyte
Physik
Flush
True Spirit

I've also dug into this book.
It was a really great Si-Fy book!

The Hunger Games is about a fictional North America where there are 12 Districts ruled by the Capitol. There used to be 13 Districts, but they tried to rebel and the Capitol destroyed the 13th District. So, every year to remind everyone about District 13's fate, the Capitol has each district to choose one boy and one girl to send to an unknown arena to fight until one is left. Living. The main character, Katniss Everdeen, volunteers in place of her sister, so she is sent. But will Katniss and the other District 12 tribute, Peeta, make it out alive?

Daddy's Blanket

Daddy just called me and told me that his newest blanket has been good luck for him lately. He said that one day when he was waiting for some people to load up the trailer, he almost fell asleep in the blanket when they banged on the door and shouted: "We're ready!" Awesome, huh? Daddy also said that he was glad that it was so warm, since he'll be needing it this winter!

By the way, I found this hilarious movie trailer!

Finally, Friday.

I know that I said on WEDNESDAY I'd post some pictures about my grandparents' blanket, but after we got home, mom was feeling worse so we watched TV all night. Yesterday she took a day off from work because she has a bad cold. And as always, my hands and feet were freezing while all the rest of me was hotter than our woodstove. I worked a little on my grandparents' blanket and a little on one of my new projects- a knitted hat! It's my first ever project with knitting, and it's SLLLOOOOWW! Anyway, here are some pictures:

Here it is two days ago

And here it is last night

Here's the third washcloth! There'll might be a fourth, but I'll have to wait 'til Wednesday to ask around.

And here's the yarn for my hat. =) I didn't get the knitting part in, but you can see a little bit of it.

I also found this pretty picture from another website from a picture of someone's from Flickr!
I like it!

I can't tell you how much I hate this time of year, what with all the politics. This year, it's worse. What's with all the slander? They're taking aim at each other. EVERYWHERE. Not just here in North Carolina. I can't tell you how much I hate the words 'Richard' 'Burr' 'Elaine' 'Tony' 'Forriest' 'China' 'Pledge' 'Ship' 'Jobs' 'Economy'. TV is where we are supposed to escape from all this stuff, so why are they bringing in this cr@p?!?!

Aw, you guys are awesome. Thanks for hearing me say how much the government has been disoriented. I hope you agree with my statement above. ;-)

Tomorrow

I'm taking the day off from school and mom is taking the day off from work and we're heading to Greensboro! We have a dentist appointment and my mom has a doctor's appointment. I persuaded mom to stop by A.C. Moore so I can pick up some new and some more yarn for future projects! I also have a special project that I've been working on for my grandparents', but I haven't taken a picture yet! With the yarn I'm going to get, I'll make a gingerbread house, a vest, some ornaments, and a blanket! So, those projects should hold me 'til December!

Sunday Photos!

Okay, here's what we did yesterday, in greater detail. We hauled wood. Check out the volume of it, though:
That's alot!

Okay, I'm gonna try Google maps to show you how far we had to transfer it. BTW, we own a tractor, but I decided to walk instead of catching a ride with the tractor! Nevermind. I can't upload that pic. :(

But, I did take some awesome pics of the sky and around my house!

Well, I hope that you enjoyed this post!
 I sure did!

I'm so sore....

Today, in prep for winter, we had to load up a lot of wood in the shed. And I must say THANK GOD that we have a front-end loader tractor, or I'd be dead right now. Then we have to trim all the trees in our drive-way. If my camera wasn't dead I'd show you how much wood we piled today and the length of my drive-way. I'm sore and I'm going to bed. Everyone is so sore, mom doubts that we're going to church in the morning. Aw, well.

Well, Miss Congeniality 2 is on, so here we go!
 I love Sandra Bullock!

I made this as a starter so I can kinda get the pattern for my church teachers' gifts!

And now, some more nature photography: My front yard
